Adam Di Carlo
Adam's entered the wooly world of software development for the University of Michigan Dental School at the tender age of 14. Since then, he has worked steadily in the world of software development, IT analysis and implementation, and finding new ways to convert open source into business opportunities.
Adam specializes in data-driven web applications. He has strong skills in Ruby, SQL, Perl, Apache, HTML, CSS and XSLT.
Adam has been active on the Internet and in the open source community since 1991, and has contributed to numerous free software / open source projects. He first started using Linux back at kernel 0.99pl13. Some highlights include shepherding the release of the Debian 3.0 release, formulating and implementing Debian XML and SGML integration subsystem, and serving on the DocBook Technical Committee.
In the past, Adam has run the technical side of a software consulting company of 15 strong. He also oversaw the development of a complex web-based resource scheduling application, still in use and growing in the academic sector. Other notable satisfied clients include Bank One, Napster, and the Associated Press.
Ryan Case
With a background designing for technology and software companies, Ryan enjoys solving interface challenges and bringing products and brands to life on the web.
His design experience includes Computer Associates, where he worked on the interface for the network visualization system of CA's flagship Unicenter TND software, Viewpoint, where he worked as Creative Director designing and providing creative direction for the web company's clients including GE, AOL and Nike, as well as design services for a number of other web companies.
While most of his time is spent in trusty Photoshop, Ryan also enjoys getting his hands dirty with a bit of coding.
Constantinos Mavromousakos
Constantinos has over 9 years of experience developing on a range of different projects. He has worked with high traffic sites, content delivery systems, data reports, to back end RDBMSs.
A very motivated individual he loves to learn new things and get down and dirty as he is not afraid to hack through other peoples code. He has recently started hacking the Linux kernel and code to try to become more involved in the open source community.
His programming experience includes projects in C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, PHP. He has worked with various frameworks including Rails, Spring, J2EE. He is a new addition to Bangstate and has been loving every minute of it as he is a very staunch supporter of the open source community.
Shockingly for a man named "Constantinos", he is fluent in Greek. He is a very active person and loves to snowboard, supercross, and paintball on his spare time.
Ronald Reeser
Ron finds himself working on an ever-increasing number of projects these days. He is currently founder of Feedfactory, the next big thing in web syndication software, as well as founder and lead developer for the popular Web linking service Citebite. Ron is also a senior partner at Bangstate, where he loves building cool web stuff in Ruby on Rails.
Ron's current area of fascination concerns applications that bring together the Web and VOIP.
Ron has a BA from the University of Texas where he studied not Computer Science, but Linguistics (which he will tell you is far more nerdy).
Michael Welles
Michael has over a decade of experience leading the development of highly trafficed and highly available web projects from conception to completion.
His programming experience includes projects in Ruby Java, C, C++, Perl, Python, Lisp and others. His experience runs the gamut from architecting high volume and highly available web sites, authoring large scale content distribution systems, to embedded devices. He, like Adam, has been using Linux since the 0.99 days, and has been a contributor to various Open Source projects, including libtiff, Imagemagick and others.
Michael and his wife, Melissa own McCaig-Welles Gallery, a Brooklyn art gallery awarded "Best of Manhatten, 2004" by the New York Press. She's the gallerist, he's the one that stands around being useless and looking surly.
They live in Brooklyn NY with their son, Henry.
